TLH010 - Hurricane Katrina

While Tallahassee and North Florida were barely effected by the winds, rain and waves of Hurricane Katrina, our neighbors in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana were not nearly as lucky. Tonight there are 114 refugees from the storm living in a shelter at the Mormon Church on Thomasville Road. Other survivors are in shelters in Bay, Duval, Escambia, Okaloosa and Washington counties.

Please find space in your heart to help the victims either with your time or your money.

Volunteer and Funding Opportunities
Volunteers are needed but please don't go without having arrangements in place to work with a disaster organization. People with construction skills, and especially certified forklift operators are needed.
